See Joe Manganiello Go Full Deathstroke
If there is anything that Justice League successfully did, that is to open up the universe and hype people up with what else is coming down the line in the franchise. Obviously, we are all looking forward to the principal cast’s respective solo outings but it’s safe to say that most of us did not expect for the film to also set-up Deathstroke for a bigger role in the franchise moving forward.
The photo comes from Manganiello’s official Twitter account which features a clearer shot of him during Justice League‘s post-credit scene after taking his mask to talk to Lex Luthor. The battered-looking suit further piques the interest of fans as it indicates that this version of Wilson has already been running around wreaking havoc for his battle armor to look like that. Check out the photo below:
There were a lot of rumors leading to Deathstroke’s introduction to the universe. We have known that the actor has already been confirmed as the villain for quite some time now with Manganiello even teasing fans regarding his upcoming gig on his official social media. Initially, he was reported to appear in Batman’s planned standalone film which Ben Affleck was supposed to direct and star in. But significant changes happened on the project that led to Matt Reeves taking over directorial duties. Since then, we have not heard anything about Deathstroke remaining to be a gameplayer on the solo outing until news broke out that a Deathstroke movie is in the works which will be directed by The Raid‘s Gareth Evans.
So when the actor appeared on-screen, with his full-on villain garb by the end of the film, everybody was understandably surprised. The fact that he appears to be cooking up something evil with Lex Luthor definitely adds up the scene’s appeal. While nothing has been confirmed yet with the future of the whole franchise is hanging in the balance with Justice League not exactly performing the way Warner Bros. wanted it in terms of box office, many are theorizing that the bonus scene is teasing of a possible Injustice League in the future. Otherwise, it could also be a set-up for the reported Deathstroke standalone that will fit the supposed Batman Universe that DC Films’ chief Geoff Johns wants to do.
